Dick Grecni – AP’s Little All-American

Ohio University All-American and Ohio University Hall of Fame football player Dick Grecni, nicknamed the Bobcat Bomber, recounts his life growing up in Ohio as a musician’s son and finding sports only to realize he was too small and weak to compete with the bigger kids. Overcoming great odds, Dick Grecni emerged as an All-American who helped the Ohio University Bobcats go undefeated and win a National Championship in 1960. Dick Grecni was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1959 and was selected to start at center in the 1960 36th Annual East-West Shrine Game and to the 1961 College All-Star team, in which Dick Grecni, on the last play of the game, intercepted a pass and ran it back 57 yards for a touchdown. Dick Grecni was inducted into the Ohio University Hall of Fame on October 12, 2012.
